In all seriousness, comparing the sports is impossible.. I do enjoy both games but soccer more.. I am over people comparing the two.. Im sick of diehard AFL fans putting down soccer. It is not a crime to love a different sport! GET OVER IT.. Im sorry to say diehard AFL people, each sport has their own skill. But the AFL fans dumb down their responses with sayings like "its tougher, rougher, more manlier, fitness levels blah blah.. Ive grown up with football (soccer) 1: Being tough isnt a skill. There are gym junkies at my gym who Im sure can tackle down anyone. I dont consider a skill 2: More Manly? Well in that case Boxing should be your number one sport 3: Fitness Levels? Well Marathon runners are defnitely the most skilled athletes over all running 50km a race! 4: Running and bouncing a ball every 15 steps requires great co-ordination? ummm YEAH! Yes soccer is less contact sport than AFL. But how does that make AFL a better sport or more skillful one? The offside rule is a brilliant rule! It means players need to time and judge their runs correctly. Dont make opinions on the A-League because that is terrible. Premier League in england is amazingly fast, (Ive seen it live in London) and I can tell you right now, it is alot quicker than any AFL match Ive been too.. How can soccer not be skillful when you cant use your hands? I mean seriously, these guys kick 60 metre long balls accurately hitting guys on the chest . (and they control it without using their hands) and the ball is kicked off the ground. I think that is alot easier then picking up an AFL ball and kicking it to someone. and yes a footy really isnt that hard to kick. I play kick to kick with mates and 8 times out of 10 will hit them on the chest. 2 times out of ten I'll do that with a soccer ball.. Quite plainly, I do think soccer requires alot more tactical BALL skills as you only use your feet. BEING FIT, STRONG, ATHELTIC IS NOT A SKILL!!!!! I think AFL is physically more demanding, maybe more fitness levels required, tougher etc.. But ball skills wise it has nothing on soccer.. Absolutely nothing. I think the only reason people hate soccer is because its a "WOG" game. plain and simple! Well this game created by us POMS and played by so called WOGS is the greatest game on earth currently.. Is the whole world really just a bunch of pansies? Soccer will forever be the game for the world, it unites millions of people together, anyone can play it, Short or tall! I can accept Australia has its No.1 codes of football, but putting down soccer is just plain stupid. AFL will never reach the heights of the beautiful perfect game that is soccer. Hearing him talking about how he misses Carlton this week has just made me sad again... hahaha! I just hope our membership drive rings true, with some magpie pie and bomber broth on the menu this year :) Finals would be nice too :) Yeah, I really need to start using this thing again… Going good mate, what about you?
